New Governor of
Kerala is Sheila Dikshit:
Sheila Dikshit had taken oath as a Governor of Kerala in
Thiruvananthapuram. Earlier she acted as Chief Minister of Delhi. Oath was
administered by Dr.Manjula Chellur Kerala High court Chief Justice. Earlier
Nikhil Kumar acted as Governor of Kerala.
Two new Congress
Presidents for Telangana and Seemandra:
Two separate units were formed for Seemandra and Telangana
by the Congress Party. For these units two separate Presidents were appointed.
New President for seemandra is NV Raghuveera Reddy, former Revenue Minister.
New President for Telangana Unit is Ponnala Lakshmaiah, IT Minister.
3 Astronauts returned
from ISS to Earth:
3 Astronauts returned from ISS (International Space Station)
to Earth. They had returned due to adverse weather conditions in Kazakhstan. As
per the Russian Media Report, US astronaut Michael Hopkins , Sergei Ryazansky
of Russia and Soyuz Capsule carrying Oleg Kotov returned to the earth around
9.24 AM to the earth on the snow covered steppe amid strong winds and freezing
temperature.

Land in Kerala will be exempted from ESA:
3000 Sq.Km Fragile Land in Kerala will be exempted from the
category of ESA (Economically Sensitive Areas). This decision was taken by
Environment Ministry. K.Kasturirangan is heading High level Working Group on
Western Ghats.
