Second Update of Annual Health Survey released:
On 6th March 2014 second update of the Annual Health Survey
released. In the world Annual Health Survey is the largest demographic survey.
It is two and half times that of Sample Registration System. Survey conducted
in 284 districts. States include Rajasthan, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya
Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. Objective of this survey
is to monitor the performance and outcome of various healthinterventions of the
Government. This survey includes National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Joint Military Exercise of Nepal and India at Nepal:
Joint Military Exercise of Nepal and India at Salijhandi
which is located in Rupandehi district of Nepal. This is a two week exercise.
SJB Rana inaugurated this exercise. He is a Nepal’s Army Major General Victor.
Name of this exercise is Ex- Surya Kiran Drills VI. In this exercise, 200 Nepal
Army people and 250 Indian Army people were participating. This exercise will
cover rescue operations, management operations, organisation and conduct of
disaster response.
Union Government of India tightened baggage rules:
For inbound Indian passengers, Union Government of India
tightened baggage rules. Details of sources of funds for importing metal need
to be provided by the passengers along with air tickets as per the new rules.
New rules were introduced to check gold smuggling in the country. It also helps
to prevent misuse of gold import facility.
OCI’s and PIO’s can visit India without medical visa:
For commissioning Surrogacy, OCI’s and PIO’s can visit India
without medical visa. This order was issued by Union Home Ministry. This
facility will be applicable to those couples who are married for at least 2
years. They will also require permission from FRO (Foreigners Registration
office) and FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration office).
